2012 B-Mod Rules


 MANDATORY - ALL CARS MUST HAVE MUFFLERS


This is a class designed to run very economically - If it does not say you can do something (don't do it)


1. Body: Can run Modified or Sports Mod car - 2 (3) link car


2. Safety - Must have all safety equipment - This is mandatory


(A)Racing fire suit and helmet required


(B)Racing seat required


(C)Five (5) point hookup seat belt


(D)Fire extinguisher; fuel cell


(E)Window net or arm restraint


(F)Metal plate 1/16" thick on drivers side


3.Engine:  Cast iron heads and block.


4.Carburetor: 4412 Holley - 2 barrel stock ONLY; May remove choke plate


5.Transmission: Manual or Automatic


Automatic - Must have working forward and reverse. 


Manual - With 3 speed may run a mini clutch.  May also run Brinnm, Bert or falcon.  If you run one of these three, you must put 50 pounds of weight in front of the bell housing


6.Tires - Asphalt pull offs - no grooving


7.Fuel - Pump gas or racing gas

2012 HOBBY Rules


 MANDATORY - ALL CARS MUST HAVE MUFFLERS


 


(CRUISER HAS BEEN RENAMED - HOBBY STOCK)


 


BODY:   Any American made stock passenger car or truck.  (No compacts)  No front wheel drives.  Stock appearing aftermarket plastic nose or tail piece are allowed.  NO wings, skirts, air scoops, or anything that alters stock appearance.  A front visor is allowed on the windshield area - MAX 7 inches.  Sunroofs and T-tops must be reinforced and enclosed.  Mirrors and trim must be removed.  All doors must be chained, bolted or welded shut.  Front inner fender wells may be removed.  Cars must be strictly stock.  NO cutting, channeling, shortening, or modifying is allowed.  Front and rear outer fenders may be cut for wheel and tire clearance.  NO excessive trimming of fenders allowed, must maintain stock appearance.  NO enclosed interiors, or decking allowed.  Front and rear firewalls must remain in stock location and be full and complete.  ALL openings should be covered as to isolate the driver, subject to track approval.  Racecar body should be maintained in such a manner as to keep a presentable appearance.  Cars with floppy or loose body parts will NOT be allowed to race until such repairs are made.


BUMPERS:  Stock type rear bumper required.  Stock type front bumper may be used, or a fabricated front bumper may be used with the following conditions: cars with aftermarket nosepieces - the bumper may extend past frame rails for support and reinforcement; cars without nosepieces - the bumper may not extend past front frame horns.  NO SHARP EDGES.


Roll Cage:   Minimum four-point cage, minimum size 1 1/2 " O.D. by .095" wall thickness.  Minimum three bars in driver's side door, and two bars on passenger side door (three bars if passenger in car).  Racing seats required.  Must have window nets for driver and passenger.  Must have three bars in front of driver and passenger in windshield area.  Must have steel plate on passenger and driver door area.


Engine:  Must have stock for the make and model.  All engine components including water pumps, distributor, etc must be strictly stock.  Cast piston only. Chevy must use 4 valve relief pistons.  Mini starter and aftermarket pulleys okay.  Aftermarket power-steering pumps okay.  Metric cars may run 350.  NO stroking or de-stroking.  Engine must be in stock location.  Solid motor and transmission mounts okay.  Maximum cranking  compression 175 obs.  (ignition off, engine turned over 5 times).


Camshaft, Valve train and Cylinder Heads:   Hydraulic cam and lifters only.  Must maintain 14" of vacuum at 1200 rpm.  1.94 maximum intake valve diameter. 1.50 maximum exhaust valve diameter on Chevrolet engines.  Stock size valve springs only.  Stamped steel 1.5 rockers on Chevy, 1.6 on Ford, and Chrysler, NO roller tips.  Open chambered heads only, must be unaltered, O.E.M.  No porting, polishing or gasket matching allowed.  Screw in studs and guide plates ok. 


Carburator and Fuel System:   Holley 4412 carb only.  Must be unaltered.  Choke  plate may be removed.  4412 must be cast into body of carb.  Maximum 1" spacer.  Fuel pump must be in stock location for make. NO electric pumps or fuel injection even if factory equipped.


Exhaust:   Headers are okay.   MUST RUN MUFFLERS


Intake manifold:  Stock aluminum or cast iron intake only. NO aftermarket or stock high performance or high rise.  NO bowties.  No porting, polishing, or gasket matching.  Low rise dual plane aluminum intake allowed.


Transmissions:  Any stock type automatic or manual.  Automatics must have working 11" torque converter.  NO direct drives.  Trans Cooler OK.  Manual must have 10.5" clutch and steel flywheel.  NO mini clutches.  Steel drive shafts must be painted white and have a loop 6" from front of u-joint.


Fuel:  Pump or racing gas only.  NO additives.  Fuel tank must be secured in trunk.  Fuel cell recommended.


Suspension:  Front and rear suspension must be stock for that make and model of car.  NO air shocks.  NO alterations to any part of the suspension will be allowed.  Any spring in stock location, No spacers or adjustable weight jacks of any kind, must sit in stock location.  Any stock mount shock.


Rear End:  Stock rear-end for make and model.  Gears may be locked.  Gear ratio optional.  Ford 9" rear end okay for any car.


Steering:  Steering boxes must remain in stock location.  Aftermarket steering wheel and quick release steering coupling are recommended.  Quick steer boxes allowed.


Radiators:  Any (1) radiator.  Water pump mounted fans only.  No electric fans.  Fan spacer okay.


Ignition:  One 12 volt battery only must be mounted securely in rear of driver's compartment or trunk area.  One stock distributor in stock location only.


Brakes: MAY RUN  stock OR AFTER MARKET  Master cylinder.  Must mount in stock location.  Must have at least 3 working brakes.  Right front may be blocked.  NO  adjustment OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE CAR.  Disc brakes allowed in rear.  NO aluminum or composite rotors.  Must use steel stock type rotors ALL THE WAY AROUND.


Tires and Wheels:  8" maximum STEEL wheels ONLY.   NO bleed-off valves.  Must run 1" steel lug nuts.  Asphalt pull-offs only.  NO grooving, striping, or softening allowed.


Weight: Weight may be securely added to car.


Courtesy Rule:


  Any car from another track with "minor" rule infractions will be allowed to race (1) night.


  


2012 SUPER Stock Rules

2012 SUPER  STOCK RULES


(STREET STOCK HAS BEEN RENAMED SUPER STOCK)


BODIES:  1955 or newer American made passenger cars or trucks.  After market stock appearing performance bodies are allowed.  Plastic nose pieces are allowed .  Factory bumper front and rear will be allowed.  Ninety-degree turns and no sharp edges on pipe bumpers.  Enclosed cockpits allowed, but no full air tunnels.  Must have full front firewall and floor pan, Option - (if stock floor pan is not there, must add 60# in front of bell housing.)  Any holes must be patched with steel or aluminum.  All glass mufflers and exhaust pipes must be removed.  Fenders may be cut for tire clearance.  Front and rear fender wells may be removed.  Hulling out body is allowed.


WHEELBASE:  108" minimum wheelbase.


CHASSIS:  1955 or newer street type cars or trucks.  Uni-bodies must be tied in.  Full frame with stock front and rear clip(at track discretion) (original dimensions).  NO engine setback.  MUST be in stock location.  (Plus or minus 1" of ball joint center).


BLOCK:  NO aluminum.  No bowtie or marine blocks of any kind.


CAM AND VALVE TRAIN:  NO rollers.  Screw in studs, guide plates okay.  NO shaft mounted rockers unless OEM equipped-hydraulic or solid lift.  Roller rockers OK.  MUST pull twelve (12) inches of vacuum at 1200 RPM.


CARBURETOR:  Holley 4412  2  barrel stock 500 only.  May remove choke plate.


INTAKE:  Any cast or aluminum.  No porting or polishing.


FUEL PUMP:  Mechanical only.


CYLINDER HEADS:  Cast Iron Heads ONLY.


IGNITION:  HEI or MSD okay.


OIL SYSTEM:  Extra capacity pan OK.  NO dry pumps.


VALVE COVERS AND BREATHERS:  Aftermarket OK


BUMPERS:   Stock or tubing OK for front and rear.  NO rear extensions, except for pusher.  Pusher must not extend more than 6" beyond rear quarter panel.  Rear bumper must not be any wider than center of rear tire.  Bumpers must be turned in 90 degrees at ends with no sharp edges.  Towing loop on both bumpers is a MUST.


FUEL:  Pump or race gas only.


FUEL CELL:  Required and must be securely fastened to cross braces between rear frame horns by at least 1/8" x 1" metal straps.


RADIATORS:  One radiator in stock location ONLY.  Aluminum OK.  Radiator cannot mount higher than hood or extend through hood.  Must run fan on water pump.


TRANSMISSIONS:  Standard or automatic.  Automatics must idle in gear.  Bert, Brinn or Falcon, okay.  If you run these you must put 50 pounds of weight in front of the bell housing. All transmissions must have forward and reverse gears.


REAR ENDS:  Stock automotive rear ends, (except Corvette).  Ford allowed in any car.  All rear ends must be locked.  Floaters are allowed.


NOT ALLOWED:  Aluminum torque arms, pull bars or any other traction devices.  Detroit lockers.  Except for lowering blocks.  All trailing arms must be in stock location.


SUSPENSION:   OEM ONLY, unless otherwise stated.


FRONT:  OEM spindles, front hubs and control arms only and must be in stock location.  Springs must be in stock location.  Racing springs OK.  Minimum five (5) inches OD.  Weight jacks OK.  Jack and spring plate must be steel.  Non adjustable steel tubular upper A arms allowed.  They cannot be moved or relocated.  Can be cut for shock.


BRAKES:  Must be OEM, NO light weight or racing components allowed.  Dual master cylinder and brake bias allowed.


REAR SUSPENSION:  Convention coil or leaf spring only.  NO fiberglass springs.  Coil minimum five (5) inches OK and must mount in stock location using stock trailing arm.  No weight jacks allowed.  No sliders allowed.  Leaf springs must use shackles.


SHOCKS:  One per wheel.  Steel only, no coil overs or coil over eliminators.


STEERING:  OEM steering gear box in stock location for frame used.  Drag link, tie rods, etc. must be OEM design and in stock location for frame used.  No tubular steel or aluminum tie rods.  After market steering wheel or steering wheel disconnect OK.  Driver must sit in left front quadrant of race car, no further back than rear edge of front door.  Steering quickness allowed.


WHEELS:  Any steel wheels with maximum up to 10" with NO aluminum or wide 5"s.  Bead locks OK.


TIRES: Any racing tire up to 10 1/2 inches wide okay / except late model racing tire.  Grooving is allowed.


DRIVESHAFT:  No aluminum.  Loop mandatory and driveshaft must be painted white.


BATTERY:  Mounted securely and shielded from driver.  Master cutoff switch MANDATORY.


WEIGHT:  All weight added to car must be painted white and bolted down.


SAFETY EQUIPMENT:  Seatbelts and helmets must be in good condition (at track discretion).  Helmet must be an approved racing helmet.  (NO OPEN face helmets)  Full fire suit is MANDATORY (CAN BE ONE PIECE OR TWO PIECE with pants and jacket.)  Fire extinguisher is MANDATORY AND MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE.  Window net or Arm Restraints MANDATORY.


 


  


2012 Compact Rules


 MANDATORY - ALL CARS MUST HAVE MUFFLERS


This is a STOCK RACE CAR.  NO MODIFICATIONS TO DRIVE TRAIN.


PARTICIPANTS - This class is open to anyone 12 years of age or older.  Drivers under 18 must show proof of age and must have a parent sign the waiver every week.  CHEATERS - Anything not covered by the following rules; abuse of rules, and creative interpretation of the rules should be checked with a tech inspector before proceeding.  If it's not factory DON'T DO IT.  Any decision or questionable items about rules is up to the tech inspector and his or her decisions are final.


SCANNER - All drivers must use a scanner.  This is for the scoring tower to put you back into your right position.  You may not use a 2-way communication scanner.  We will give you the frequency.


ELIGIBILITY - 1970 through present American made passenger cars OR trucks.


ENGINES - Four and six cylinders only - NOTHING CAN BE LARGER THEN - (GM 3.1L), (FORD 3.0L), and (CHRYSLER 3.0L). No turbo charged engines.  Must be the same as was available for year/make/model car, and must be in factory stock location.  Trucks/mini vans see rule above.


SUSPENSION/BRAKES - Don't touch them.  Don't modify anything. 


TIRES - 13 - 15 inch tires; or you may run KK704 American Racers are okay.


WHEELS - Aftermarket okay. 


GETTING YOUR CAR READY CHECKLIST:


1.  Remove all glass


2.  Remove headlights


3.  Remove tail lights


4.  Remove all interior


5.  Remove hood latch / Remove insulation under hood it will burn


6.  Remove trunk latch and break tension bar so trunk stays closed by own weight.  Remove insulation.


7.  Must have racing seat


8.  You can move battery into passenger compartment with battery box for your protection.


9.  Take hub caps off and paint rims


10.  Add a tow chain to front and back bumper. This is mandatory.


11.  Paint car


12.  Add your favorite number


13.  Helmet / No open face


14.  Racing suit required


15.  Roll cage mandatory.  Minimum 1 1/2" .095.  Must have four door bars on driverside.  Driver door only may be hulled out to accomodate door bars.


 


  


2011 Limited Rules


 MANDATORY - ALL CARS MUST HAVE MUFFLERS


 


The Limited Modified Class will be governed by the IMCA rules and  regulations.  Please visit the IMCA Website for full details.


           ...12 inch vacuum/1200 RPM


           ...No engine claim


           ...No minimum weight


           ...If you vary away from the IMCA body you could be disqualified


           ...Decision of track officials are final and binding without exception


               Tire Exception - Hoosier 500 or American Racer 500 okay


  


2011 Modified Rules

**Aluminum head will be allowed with 50 lb. of weight in the front of the mid-plate (25 lbs on each side of the engine).


 


**Fiberglass or aluminum tops are acceptable.
